SITE (Student Industry Training Experience) works with young people to prepare them for employment through providing opportunities to with local employers. Below outlines a list of the services available to young people.
Work Experience
SITE engages with schools, students and local businesses to coordinate work experience. The length of the experience differs from school to school it may be block release or perhaps one day per week. Work experience is a great opportunity for young people to taste test numerous industries, gain skills to enhance your resume, build up employer contacts in the local industry, gain School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeships or even gain part time work. It is a fantastic program that I urge schools to participate in.
Students will need to complete the Safety Sense online Workplace Health and Safety unit before commencing a work placement with SITE. Please remember to print out your certificate and return it to the SITE officer in your school along with your student card registration form.

If you are participating in a VET qualification then chances are you are going to be required to undertake on the job work experience to signoff some of your units of
competency. SITE can organise your workplacement with an employer to ensure that you are going to get the relevant experience for your qualification.
School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SATS)
SITE’s ongoing contact with local businesses enables us to assist young people to work towards obtaining SATS. We can coordinate the signup with the Australian Apprenticeship Centre and the Employer to ensure a smooth transition into your employment and support and mentor you whilst you are still at school.
